About KMTNC
The King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation (KMTNC) was established in 1982 by the Legislative Act, mandated as an autonomous, non-profit and non-governmental organization, to work in the field of nature conservation in Nepal. The KMTNC is named after the late King Mahendra without whose timely intervention most of the existing protected areas of Nepal would not have existed. It is honored to receive the august patronage of His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, and is privileged to have His Royal Highness Crown Prince Paras Bir Bikram Shah Dev as the Chairman. The Trust is governed by the Board of Trustees of prominent national and international personalities in nature conservation and sustainable development. The Trust is supported by a network of international partners. Currently there are seven KMTNC's partners in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Germany, France, Netherlands and Japan.
